The first constituent conference of the �Progressive Azerbaijan’ party was held on 16 November. Shahin Mahmuov was elected the party’s chairman, Telman Hagveriyev and Rovshan Alizade - as deputies. The first two of them were deputy chairmen of the Modern Musavat party.
Hadliyev said also, as Mahmudov together with the �Musavat’ party head Isa Gambar and the chairman of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA)- reformists, Ali Kerimli took part in separate talks he was discharged from the position of the party deputy head. “As for Telman Hagverdiyev, he was expelled from the party because he had not come out to work on the elections day”, Hadjiyev said.
Mahmudov, from his part, told Trend, that they had been expelled from the party because they had protested against the policy of the “Modern Musavat’ party chairman Hafiz Hadjiyev.
