NATO to continue implementation of projects on mine-clearing of Azerbaijan’s areas

The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) held presentation of the Salogli project on demining of the unexploded ammunitions in Agstafa district, Trend reports.

At the presentation of the project to be implemented in the framework of the cooperation of the Azerbaijan’s government with the NATO Logistic organization under the support of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan the Vice Premier of the Azerbaijan’s government Abid Sharifov, the NATO special representative on Central Asia and South Caucasus Robert Simmons, the Ambassadors of the donor states took part. The ANAMA director Nazim Ismaylov said at the presentation while informing the participants of the project, that the project’s cost is 1,047,649 euro. Azerbaijan fulfilled all its commitments and with the assistance of the NATO donor states вЂ" Finland, Norway, Turkey, Sweden, the USA, Australia, Luxemburg and UNDDP it was possible to collect the needed funds for the project implementation. According to Sharifov, Azerbaijan using all possible internal means completed its commitments and is ready to continue cooperation with NATO.

The NATO’s efforts are aimed at ensuring security and well-being of the Azerbaijani people, as well as at removal of the results of the �cold war’, liquidation of the remains of the armed forces ammunitions of the former USSR, Simmons said.
