Samad Seyidov: CE standpoint on elections held depends on Leo Platvoet report

The standpoint of the Council of Europe on the elections held in Azerbaijan will be publicized at the CE permanent commission sitting on 25 November in Bucharest (Rumania), the head of the Azerbaijan’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Samad Seyidov told Trend.

The monitoring of the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan from the Council of Europe has been performed by a group of observers headed by Leo Platvoet.

Seyidov noted that the opinion on the elections results will depend on the report of Platvoed. В"I hope, he will be unbiased to the issue”, the Azerbaijani parliamentarian said.

The issue of destructing the last remains of the “iron curtain” close to the Velke Slomentsi village at the border of Ukraine and Slovakia will be also discussed at the PACE sitting. The Rumanian Foreign Minister Razvan Ungurean, the CE Secretary General Terri Davis and his deputy Mod de Bur-Buqiqqio will take part in the event.
