Within the next 2-3 days Ukraine will appoint new co-chairman of the Azerbaijani- Ukrainian joint commission

During the next 2-3 days the government of Ukraine will appoint the co-chairman of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian commission on economic cooperation, the I Counsellor of the Azerbaijan’s Embassy to Ukraine Sabuhi Temirov told Trend exclusively citing the report he received from this country’s government.

According to him, as the co-chairmen are appointed on the parity bases and from the Azerbaijani side the commission is headed by the government’s I Vice-Premier Abbas Abbasov, from the Ukrainian side the commission will be also headed by the I Vice- Premier of this country. The government of Azerbaijan brought to the attention of the Ukrainian side the necessity to resume the commission’s activities and to hold its next sitting during the nearest time.

According to Temirov, the former co-chairman from the Ukrainian side has been appointed Secretary of the Defense Council and Security of Ukraine. Due to political changes in Ukraine there were also changes in the country’s government and as the result the sitting of the commission was delayed several times.
