Azerbaijan Professional Football League Satisfied with First Round of Premier League

Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 December / Trend corr. R.Ergun/ The President of the Azerbaijan Professional Football League (PFL) has been satisfied with level of the first round of the Premier League.

"The first round of the championship was satisfactory. The current championship differed from previous ones," Ramin Musayev, the President of the PFL, said at a news conference on 2 December.

Musayev regarded championship of the substitutive teams of the Premier League clubs as an progressive step.

"So far, championship of the substitutive teams has not been held. We are holding this championship in 2008. Mostly, Neftchi club and the National team took benefit from it. Four or five footballers of the substitutive team of Neftchi club have begun to play for a main team. These footballers play for the National team, as well," Musayev said.

The PFL President said that referees were unbiased during this championship.

"Everybody claims that referees have been biased, whilst nobody can speak basing on facts," the PFL President said.

The first round of the Azerbaijani Premier League has finished. The second round will start in February 2009.
