Traditional tournament 'Miss Valentine' completed successfully for the Azerbaijani gymnasts. The tournament was held in Tartu on the eve of St. Valentine.

Athletes won six medals including one gold, one silver and four bronze at the first day of competitions, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation reported

National team leader Aliya Garayeva did not fall below the top third places in three of four finals, including her best performance with ball, the second place with ribbon and the third place with rope. Anna Gurbanova won the bronze medal with hoop, the AGF said

The senior group- team including Jeyla Guliyeva, Stephanie Trayanova, Anastasia Prasolova, Nigar Abdusalimova, Jamila Huseynova and Nigar Mirzoyeva won silver and ranked the second after the Russian team

Junior group exercises team also preparing for the European Championships ranked the third. "Everybody like them even the rivals," Azerbaijani team head coach Mariana Vasilyeva said

"I think Medina Hasanova, Mansura Mehtiyeva, Aliya Pashayeva and Irada Ahadzade can adequately perform at the European Championship and surprise many, as it did another junior team, assembled with an eye toward the future. I am very happy that the girls did not confuse, and showed the composition with five ropes just in one breath. That is why Aynur Jabbarli, Lala Yusifova, Aisha Mustafayeva, Siyana Vasilyeva and Mansura Bagieva deservedly ranked the first among the eight teams," Vasilyeva said.

Vasilyeva was also satisfied with the individual results showed by juniors. Mansura Bagieva took the first place in the exercises with hoop and clubs among 13-year old athletes and brought Gold medal to Azerbaijan. Aisha Mustafaeva ranked the second with a rope and the 3rd with the hoop among 14-year old athletes. Lala Yusifova took the third place with a rope, ball and clubs

"Only juniors Jala Garatova, Ekaterina Prokopenko and individual athlete Dina Gorina returned Baku without awards. Jala and Katya ranked the 4-5th and Dina's best result is 10th place. I believe that they will show the best results next time. By the way, the next competition will be held in Moscow this week," the head coach said
