Materials related to the seven municipalities have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Department under the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General.
Evidence of corruption have been revealed in the activities of municipalities such as Bakikhanov and Raman of the Sabunchu district, Chanlibel of the Shamkir region, Khidirli of the Salyan region, Kalva of the Agsu region, Turan of the Sheki region and Gushchu of the Dashkesen region, Head of the Justice Ministry's center for municipalities Mehdi Salimzade told Trend.
He said the center's inspections revealed violations in making of decisions, corruption in the use of municipal property and property, collection of funds and expenditures.
He said the revealed violations are criminal in nature and the Anti-Corruption Department will give a legal assessment to the actions of responsible persons of the named municipalities.
There were identified corruption offenses in the activities of 27 municipalities in 2010. Materials related to financial shortcomings were submitted to the law-enforcement agencies, claim were raised in the court on bringing the heads of 481 municipalities to administrative responsibility in connection with their illegal actions.
