The bill on making amendments and addenda to the law on public health protection was discussed at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy.

Committee Chairman Hadi Rajabli said the Parliament of Azerbaijan received the bill signed by the president of Azerbaijan. He informed the participants of the meeting about the proposed changes. In accordance with the change that is proposed to the art. 25 of the law, the information to the person received or receiving mental health care, should be submitted by the leadership of institutions within two days after the written request of that person or his legal representative.

According to the proposal the right of the patient to receive information can be limited to prevent harm to his health or safety of others. If the proposed changes are adopted, it will not be allowed to provide information that could harm the patent's health.

During the discussion of the project committee member Elmira Akhundova asked to clarify certain aspects of the proposed changes. Committee Chairman Hadi Rajabli and member of the committee Ahliman Amiraslanov presented an explanation to MP, with which she disagreed.

After discussion, the draft has been recommended for consideration at the plenary session of the Parliament of Azerbaijan.
