Azerbaijani professional boxer Fariz Mammadov will fight Armenian sportsman Jegiz Tolmaszyan in Germany on May 12.

"Despite I returned to professional sport only five weeks ago, he did not refuse from the Armenian athlete's appeal," Fariz Mammadov said at a press conference held in Trend news agency's conference hall today.

"I was not going to accept any proposal till September, but could not refuse from this one," he said.

Azerbaijani first professional boxer Fariz Mammadov returned to professional sports after seven year-imprisonment.

Mammadov has recently signed a contract with one of German companies.

"I have been waiting for this fight seven years," he said.

Jegiz Tolmaszyan, fighting from the Armenian side, lives in Austria.
He held 16 fights and won 14 fights.

The fight for WBCA between Fariz Mammadov and Jegiz Tolmaszyan will consist of 12 rounds.
