A newly appointed spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, Jonas Stewart, visited the Azerbaijani Press Council (PS) on Wednesday.
Chairman of the Council Aflatun Amashov told an American diplomat about the Council's goals and objectives, the Press Council told Trend.
Noting that the U.S. Embassy maintains close relations with the media institutions of the country, Amashov expressed confidence in further deepening of mutual cooperation.
Stewart, in turn, noted that such cooperation will continue and expand.
