Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 20 /Trend/

Turkish Court has ruled in favor of Head of 'Old City' State Historic Architectural Reserve Administration at Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov following his claim demanding publication of rebuttal of the false and libelous article which appeared in Hurriyet Newspaper.

"After Hurriyet Newspaper's refusal to publish my letter, I had no choice other than to apply to the court," Mikayil Jabbarov stated in his interview to Day.az information portal.
The newspaper refused to publish the rebuttal, hereupon Mikayil Jabbarov initiated a legal action in Turkey demanding court order against Hurriyyet Newspaper and the author of the above-mentioned articles.

However, following the court decision on October 20 2012, a rebuttal of previously posted false and libelous information which appeared in 'Hurriyyet' newspaper under the headlines "Sen menim kim olduğumu bilir misen?" and "İşte o mühim gişi" on August 13-14 2012, was published on the page of the journalist F.Chekirge.

Mr Jabbarov has confirmed that according to the decision of Istanbul Criminal Court on October 5 , the claim for imposing obligations to publish refutation was satisfied. In this regard, the newspaper is obliged to publish the rebuttal twice at the same directory (Fatih Cekirge's page). The decision is final and not subject to appeal

Despite of the court decision, Cekirge expressed his discontent in his comments to the published rebuttal, implying that the Turkish Airlines didn't present an internal report on the incident to the court. However, as reported on October 16 2012, Turkish Airlines has sent a letter with apologies on the case to Y.Huseynov, who actually experienced the incident. The letter officially confirmed the information from Mikayil Jabbarov's open letter, released immediately following 1st publication, where he states that one of the flight passengers experienced the incident.

"We have received your message dated on August 18, 2012. First of all, we would like to apologize for our late response. "Customer Satisfaction" is on the top of the list of our priorities at Turkish Airlines. Foremost, we would like to let you know that all Turkish Airlines personnel, particularly our cabin crew, routinely attend professional training courses to improve their behavioral and communication skills, body language, diction and in-flight safety techniques," the letter says.

"We would like to inform you that cabin crew have no authorization to upgrade the passenger to Business class section. According to information taken by related department, on mentioned flight, your relatives changed their seats on Business class section. Thus, the staff had to explain you about the rules of upgrading to business class. However, the related department has been reminded that the staff of department has to present more liable approach while explaining the rules," the letter of Customer Relations Department noted.

The airlines expressed regret over the situation that led the complaint.
