Group involved in drug trafficking was neutralized in Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee (SCC) told Trend.

Thus, a citizen Afghan Bagirov, who arrived in the Heydar Aliyev International Airport to board the flight TK-335 on the route Baku-Istanbul, was detained. Some 2295.7 grams of methamphetamine was found and seized from him by customs officers during the inspection.

The investigation department of the State Customs Committee opened a criminal case under articles 206.3.2, 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code.

In the frame of the criminal case members of the band Yegana Jabbarzade, Bayram Rzayev and Afghan Bagirov was prosecuted under articles 206.4, 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code, and the head of the gang Elnur Huseynov is wanted.

Yegyana Jabbarzade, Bayram Rzayev and Afghan Bagirov were found guilty of imputed crimes and were sentenced to 11 years in prison each by Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

During the investigation it was found that five citizens of Azerbaijan- Ruslan Guliyev, Nabi Abdullayev, Niyamaddin Alekperov, Irada Ismailova and Rashad Mammadov were detained for drug smuggling in Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
