Baku will be paying more attention to the construction of three-star hotels, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev told media today.

Garayev said that a variety of services must be ensured. There are enough five-and four-star hotels in Azerbaijan.

"At present, we must start constructing lower category hotels," he said. "A process of introducing new rules of achieving star ratings by hotels approved by the State Committee for Standardisation, Metrology and Patents and meeting international standards will be launched from 2013. These rules have been tightened enough."

The Shahdag winter and summer tourist complex will fully operate until 2015, minister added.

The first phase of the complex has been recently opened with the Azerbaijani president's participation.
