The issue of inclusion of sport climbing in the program of the 1st European Olympic Games - 2015 to be held in Azerbaijan is being discussed in Baku, President of the European Commission of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (İFSS) Wolfgang Webel told Trend on Wednesday.
He noted that he believes that sport climbing will be included in the program of the 1st European Games.
After welcoming the construction of a large number of Olympic complexes in Azerbaijan, Webel expressed the wish that these complexes were equipped with sport climbing equipment.
According to him, in the case of the inclusion of this sport in the program of European Olympic Games, the world's 60 best climbers from 15-20 countries will take part in them.
Webel also noted that İFSS together with the Federation Air and Extreme Sports of Azerbaijan (FAIREX) is going to hold trainings for judges and Azeri athletes.
One of the active members of our federation, FAIREX, is present in Azerbaijan. Despite the fact that it was created recently, it has become a very active member of the Federation. Sport Climbing World Cup to be held in Baku in June once again confirms that this sport is developing in Azerbaijan," Webel said.
