Azerbaijan, Baku, June 11 / Trend M. Aliyev /

A new law in the field of tourism will be adopted in Azerbaijan, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev said on Monday.

The Minister noted that the UN World Tourism Organization prepared a set of recommendations for Azerbaijan, which cover the Tourism Management.

A new bill in the tourism sector is being prepared based on these recommendations and European standards, he said.

"The law will allow to impose on hotels and other structures stringent requirements for standards of service that will create the conditions for the work of professionals in the field of tourism," Garayev added.

The minister also said that 17 travel agencies of Azerbaijan applied to the World Tourism Organization for associate membership.

According to him, in August this year, a meeting of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization in Zambia should approve the associate membership of these companies.

The minister said that three structures: the Association of Tourism of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Tourism Institute and Baku Tourist Information Centre, are already members of the World Tourism Organization.
