Azerbaijan is developing a map of landslide zones, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister, Abid Sharifov told journalists on Tuesday.

According to him, the map is being developed by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

"The map will include all landslide areas and places that are dangerous for construction," Deputy Prime Minister said.

Sharifov, speaking about the causes of landslides, said that the human factor is cause of majority of landslides.

"Cafes and restaurants in the Agsu pass, does not have their own sewage system and water accumulating in the wells is absorbed to the soil and causes landslides. A similar problem occurs in landslide zones of Baku. People should understand that the water that flows in soil, creates problems for their homes," Deputy Prime Minister said.

It should be noted that intensifications were recorded in the last week in Azerbaijan in Zikh landslide zone of the Absheron Peninsula, Shamakhi landslide zones and landslide zones near Lankaran - Lerik road.
