Some 399 villages have been cut off in Turkey's eastern parts for over three days due to strong snowfalls and storms, Turkish Anadolu news agency reported on Jan. 31.

In particular the villages in the Van, Hakkari and Bitlis provinces have been cut off, according to the report.

Currently work is underway to restore communication with the cut off villages.
