Grant contracts worth 67.2 million manats were registered in Azerbaijan in 2013, Azerbaijani Justice Minister Fikret Mammadov said at an enlarged meeting on Feb. 19.

He said that last year the growth of the number of NGOs continued - 135 non-profit organizations and 138 prints were registered. The total number of NGOs exceeded 3900, and the media outlets - 4900.

There were registered more than 1800 grant contracts totalling 67.2 million manats. It was also noted that internal grants exceeded the external ones two times.

As a result of measures on improvement of the courts' activity, the number of examined cases in 2013 increased by 24 percent compared to 2012 and exceeded 205,000.

Execution of 75 percent of cases was provided, allowing paying 110 million manats to individuals and legal entities. Some 2,400 people, who prevented the execution of court decisions, were brought to administrative responsibility, criminal cases were instituted against 305 persons and restriction on leaving the country was imposed on 2640 debtors.

Some 23,000 cases were received by the forensic examination on 42 areas, and experts responded to 263,000 requests.
