The official visit of the Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports, Azad Rahimov to the U.S will start on March 19.

The purpose of the visit is to participate in the second preparatory meeting for the I Global Youth Policy Forum to be held in Baku on Oct. 28-30. The forum organizers are the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, UNESCO, Council of Europe, the UN Department of Public Information.

An official invitation to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who supports the Global Forum that gives a special status of work with youth will be conveyed.

Rahimov will take part and make a speech at the conference organized by the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth in one of the leading universities of the U.S.- Colombia University, on March 24-26. His theme will be "Towards a better understanding of inequality and marginalization of youth."

Official meetings with the head of UN Development Program (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark, the Under-Secretary-General for Public Information at the United Nations Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, and others are also planned.

Furthermore, it is planned to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports Ministry and the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, during the meeting with Special envoy of UN General Secretary, Ahmed Alhandavi.
