Azerbaijani former MP, Gular Ahmadova has been granted a three year probationary period under the decision of the Baku Court of Appeal.

Ahmadova was given three years probation during the trial held under chairmanship of the judge Aflatun Gasimov, implementing Article 70 of Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

She was released in the courtroom.

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office launched a criminal case based on video footage depicting the MP Gular Ahmadova and former rector of the Azerbaijan International University, Elshad Abdullayev.

The video footages showed them discussing the transfer of a bribe in a large amount.

Ahmadova was charged under Articles 178.3.2 and 307.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

On December 2, 2013, Gular Ahmadova was sentenced to three years in prison under the verdict of the Court of Grave Crimes.
