Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have agreed on the expansion of cooperation.
"The agreements have been achieved on the deepening of relations and cooperation between the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations and Kazakhstan. I think it will benefit our peoples. The employees of the Emergency Situations Ministries of the two countries plan to hold joint military exercises on the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations. The trainings will be held on the elimination of the oil spill in Aktau in the coming days, where the delegation of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations has been invited," Kazakh Minister for Emergency Situations Vladimir Bozhko told journalists.
He is taking part in the Seventh International Conference on Disaster Risk Management of the Economic Cooperation Organization. It is being held at the initiative of the ECO with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan in Gabala.
The conference was attended by representatives of the ministries of emergency situations of countries, including in ECO - Azerbaijan, Iran, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan , Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan , as well as the UN Development Program (UNDP) , UN Children's Fund , the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs , the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief, the German Society for International Cooperation , the Japan International Cooperation Agency , Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology, German Red Cross, Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, etc.
The main objective of this event is the deepening of cooperation in the field of civil protection, protection of population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies between the authorities of the countries that are part of the ECO and the organizations which are work closely with the ECO.
