Israeli gymnast Linoy Ashram holds the lead after the completion of the qualification round in the B and C groups in the juniors' competitions at the 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku.

In total, Ashram scored 61.065 points on all performances. She received 15.666 points for the composition with a hoop, 15.716 for the performance with a ball, 15.283 and 14.400 points for the exercises with clubs and a ribbon, respectively.

On the second day of the competitions in the qualifying individual junior tournaments in A, B and C groups, athletes are performing with two exercises: with clubs and a ribbon.

On the first day of the competitions, on June 13, the athletes performed with a ball and a hoop.

Greek gymnast Eleni Kelaiditi slipped to the second place with 59.233 points, while Belgian athlete Anais Collin ranked third with 56.939 points.

In the team event scoring, Russia keeps lead with 96.815 points, while Belarus was second with 94.715 points and Bulgaria settled for the third place with 91.348 points.
Azerbaijan has 61.815 points in the team championship for the moment.

Azerbaijani gymnasts will perform in the junior competitions in the group A today.

On the opening day, June 13, Azerbaijani gymnast Jala Piriyeva received a total of 31.466 points (16.100 points for the composition with a hoop and 15.366 for the performance with the ball) and took the lead after the performances of A, B and C groups.

Moreover, another leading gymnast of Azerbaijani team, Zuleikha Ismayilova received 30.349 points: 15.083 and 15.266 points for the performance with a hoop and a ball, respectively.

The 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships kicked off in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on June 13.

Some 258 gymnasts from 33 countries compete for nine sets of awards in the tournament that is being held in Baku for the third time.

Azerbaijani gymnasts took sixth place in the group team competitions of seniors performing with 10 clubs, as well as three balls and two ribbons on June 13 and the Azerbaijani team scored a total of 34.050 points.

Russian squad took the first place with 36.566 points and won the gold medal. Italy was second with 34.749 points, and the third was the team from Israel with 34.383 points.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku will last till June 15.
