The Baku International Humanitarian Forum's authority will soon reach and outmatch that of the Davos World Economic Forum, the First Deputy Director General of Russian ITAR-TASS news agency Mikhail Gusman told Trend Oct. 2.

Gusman is taking part in the 4th Baku International Humanitarian Forum.

"The day is near when the economic forum in Davos will be regarded as an economic version of the forum in Baku," Gusman said.

He added that in the digital age the media has a special responsibility.

Gusman said the media's role, what should the media be like, the way they should serve the public, and to what extent the media meet the society's needs are the topics of constant debates, adding "we feel a responsibility to society."

Touching upon the humanitarian forum, Gusman said every year he observes the forum's development, and how the number of its members is growing.

He also underscored the excellent organization of the forum.

The 4th Baku International Humanitarian Forum will last from Oct. 2-3.

Within the framework of the forum, tours to the country's districts, namely Nakhchivan, Lankaran, Quba and Qabala will be organized on Oct. 4-5.

Well-known politicians, representatives of the socio-political circles, scholars and figures of culture are also participating in the forum.
