A serious road accident has occurred in Azerbaijan's Goygol district (western part of the country), leaving two people dead and 40 more injured, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
The road accident occurred at 364 km of the Baku-Gazakh highway on the night of Oct.8, according to the ministry. The accudent claimed the life of Fuad Isgandarov (born in 2005), while the other victim of the accident hasn't been identified yet.
Regional 'Kepez TV' channel earlier reported that a 'Mercedes' passenger bus on the way from Baku to Georgia, crashed into the back of a 'Kamaz' truck, which was moving in the same direction.
The collision caused the bus to catch fire, which was extinguished at 03:10 AM (UTC/GMT +5 hours), Oct.9.
All the injured were rushed to the Emergency Hospital of Ganja city. Three of the injured are in a serious condition and are in the intensive care unit.
Seven injured are in the Emergency Hospital of Ganja city. They are: Dilaver Shamsiyeva (born 1968), Vasif Osmanov (1985), Gulshan Aliyeva (1963), Hamail Suleymanova (1968), Nabat Hajiyeva (1955), Huru Ayvazova (1953) and Bahruz Mammadov (1993).
The rest of the injured received medical aid on site, according to preliminary data.
