Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited the republican special boarding school No 5 for children with restricted health conditions in Narimanov district, Baku Oct. 9.
She was informed that the school opened in 1961. The reconstruction of the boarding school was initiated by the foundation in 2006.
Aliyeva was informed that 267 visually impaired children aged between 6 and 20, of them 145 totally blind, were being educated in the school.
She toured a canteen of the school, and chatted with children.
Children, who came from the regions, live in the 120-bed hostel of the facility. The children at the school were presented with computers.
Then, Aliyeva visited the music school No 38 for visually impaired children.
She was told that 204 children were receiving education at the facility. Aliyeva also listened to performance of the school`s pupils.
