The Heydar Aliyev Center hosted a press conference dedicated to the third international racing Baku World Challenge 2014 - the final round of Blancpain Sprint Series to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan on Nov.1-2.

The cars which will take part in the racing were demonstrated following the press conference.

The event is organized by AzTexnika company in Azerbaijan with the assistance of the country's Ministry of Youth and Sports and Azerbaijan Automobile Federation.

President of the AzTexnika company Manouchehr Ahadpur Khangah expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani government, especially to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for organizing this event.

He said the holding of such major sporting events in Baku is a result of the successful policy and development of the country under the president's leadership.

"Azerbaijan became known in the world as a sporting nation. Baku World Challenge was shown in over 50 countries with the audience of more than 130 million people in 2013 alone," he said.

President of AzTexnika company expressed confidence that the event will be of much joy to the racing fans.

Secretary General of Azerbaijan Automobile Federation, Anar Shukurov, for his part said that this competition will contribute to the development of sports in Azerbaijan and the country will once again be on the spotlight of the world.

"The head of state pays special attention to the development of sports in the country and this competition is another striking proof of this," Shukurov said. "It is noteworthy that Baku will host the First European Games in 2015 and the Formula 1 race in 2016."

Blancpain Sprint Series CEO Stephane Ratel and the promoter of Baku World Challenge 2014 Renaud Jeanfils expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and said that Baku World Challenge 2014 has been organized at the highest level.

They expressed hope that the upcoming race will be held successfully and the deserving competitor will win.

Some 59 drivers with 30 cars from 17 teams will take part in the competition. The following cars will be used during the competition: BMW Z4, Audi R8LMS Ultra, Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini LFII, Porsche 997 GT3, Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Corvette Z06 G.

The event will be broadcast live on the Eurosport TV channel in European, Middle East countries, as well as in Australia, Asia, America and Africa.

The fans and spectators within two days will see uncompromising, exciting and spectacular competition. The drivers will compete for professional and semi-professional titles on a completely new, specially designed street circuit with the length of four kilometers. The racers will compete in the circuit, passing the famous Baku Crystal Hall and the State Flag Square.
