The Central Election Commission (CEC) has not received formal appeals or complaints in connection with the municipal election, CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov said at a press conference on Dec. 24.

"The CEC "hot line" received about 150 calls of an informational nature," he said. "The answers were rapidly given."

"Some videos were disseminated in the social networks," he said. "The CEC will examine them."

He said that after the preliminary results of the election are announced, the candidates and their representatives are entitled to appeal to the CEC within 20 days.

"These requests will be considered by the CEC," he said. "A specific decision will be made regarding each of them."

Azerbaijan held municipal elections on Dec.23. The polling stations in the country opened at 08:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours). The voting ended at 19:00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).
Around 15,035 members of 1,607 municipalities should be elected.

The election was conducted on 118 constituencies. The voting took place at 5,015 polling stations. Around 4,887 are permanent and 128 - temporary. The municipal elections were not held in seven constituencies situated in the territory occupied by Armenia.
