The commander of the military unit of the Azerbaijani armed forces, Lieutenant-General Nizam Osmanov was dismissed in connection with his new appointment.
Major General Hikmet Hasanov was appointed commander of the military formation as part of the activities carried out in the Azerbaijani armed forces in a planned manner and in accordance with president, Supreme Commander of the armed forces of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev's orders signed in late December 2014.
Lieutenant-General Nizam Osmanov was appointed head of the main department of the defense ministry.
This information was confirmed for Trend in the defense ministry.
Up till now, Major General Hasanov served as the chief of the staff of the Nakhchivan general army.
Earlier, he was the commander of one of the military units in Baku.
