An Azerbaijani soldier died as a result of a disease, the Azerbaijani defense ministry said March 2.
According to the preliminary data, 25-year-old soldier Vijay Parvanayev died from acute heart and respiratory failure March 2.
Parvanayev was called to the active military service from the Gusar district of Azerbaijan.
A forensic examination is underway. The Military Prosecutor's Office filed a criminal case.
The Azerbaijani defense minister expresses his condolences to the family of the soldier, the statement said.
