There is a need for enhancing the cooperation between the civil societies of Azerbaijan and Germany, said Emil Huseynli, the head of the Azerbaijani public association, Dushunje, on Apr. 9.

He made the remarks at a meeting with Matthias Dornfeld, the Chairman of European Institute for Caucasus and Caspian Studies Berlin.

Huseynli said the civil society can play a big role in bringing the realities about Azerbaijan to world community.

"I believe our organizations can implement joint projects in this area," he added.

Dornfeld, for his part, said the organization he leads is currently engaged in the issues related to better governance, e-government, and fight against human trafficking.

"From this point of view, we are cooperating closely with the ASAN service centre. ASAN's representatives will visit Germany, to get acquainted with the public administration system, as well as present ASAN's experience to the German public," he said.

The importance of joint action in bringing information on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the tolerance atmosphere in Azerbaijan to the German public, and the international public as a whole, was noted at the meeting.

An exchange of views on these issues was also carried out at the meeting, which was also attended by the Dushunje deputy head, Elchin Mehdiyev.
