State Migration Service of Azerbaijan has announced the rules for foreigners' staying in Azerbaijan during the First European Games.

State Migration Service said a round table dedicated to the First European Games was held with the representatives of the airlines carrying out flights to Azerbaijan in order to brief them about the simplification of the visa issuance procedures.

Moreover, in order to promptly resolve the issues within the competence of the State Migration Service, a working group has been created from among its employees.

Corresponding measures are taken to inform the local people and foreigners visiting Azerbaijan to ensure their security.

Foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing outside the country, who have received the corresponding accreditation, can visit Azerbaijan and leave the country by presenting the passport or other documents for crossing the border and the accreditation card within the period of 60 days before the opening of the First European Games and 30 days after their completion.

By presenting the ticket for the First European Games or the document proving the purchase of the ticket, foreigners and stateless persons, permanently residing outside the country, can get visa in the subdivisions of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's Consular Department located at the country's international airports 10 days before the start of the Games.

Taking into account the large number of foreigners arriving in the country in connection with the European Games, the State Migration Service ensured an electronic registration at the place of residence of the individuals who have been accredited and staying in the country less than 10 days. The individuals, who have been accredited, temporarily staying in the country for more than 10 days and participants of the European Games are exempt from registration at the place of residence.

The information on visa facilitation of foreigners arriving in the country in connection with the European Games has been posted at the State Migration Service's website.
