Nargiz Aliyarova is a famous pianist, professor at the Baku Music Academy, the honored artist of Azerbaijan, Ph.D., and the winner of the international competition.

In February 2015, the Belgian record company, Etcetera, released a CD with works of Frederic Chopin performed by her. This is of great importance not only for Nargiz Aliyarova's creative biography, but also for the promotion of Azerbaijani musical culture.

In an interview with Trend Life, Nargiz Aliyarova told about the history of recording her CD and her collaboration with Europe's leading record company.

"Chopin's works had a huge impact on me, this music has to some extent shaped my taste in music," said the pianist.

In 2010, on March 1 - the day Chopin was born, the Great Hall of Baku Music Academy hosted the first concert - the opening of the Year of Chopin.

The famous Polish pianist, Stanislav Dey also participated in the concert along with the Azerbaijani artists.

"We performed together the 'Rondo for Two Pianos' by Frederic Chopin," she said. "After that concert, Stanislav Dey came several times on tour to Baku, and I was lucky enough to play music on the same stage with this great pianist."

"The same year, there was a concert with the participation of Pruzinovsky's Trio, a folklore ensemble specializing in the Polish folk music. My solo concert was held with the support of the Polish embassy in Azerbaijan the same year," Aliyarova said. "The program consisted of the works by Chopin and Azerbaijani composers."

She said that she is very proud that the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland awarded her diploma "For outstanding contribution to the promotion of Chopin's heritage".

Aliyarova recorded mazurkas, waltzes and nocturnes by Chopin at the leading Dutch recording studio "Power Studio" in Amsterdam in 2013. A year later, the Belgian record company Etcetera signed a contract with Aliyarova to release the disc. The CD was released in February 2015.

"I am the first performer from Azerbaijan with the disc released by Etcetera company," she said. "I hope that our cooperation will continue."

The disc can be purchased on the official website of the company http://www.etcetera-records.com/album/479/nargiz-aliyarova, as well as in special stores worldwide.

"I recorded two CDs in Turkey in 2009 and 2010," she said. "In one of them I performed the works by Azerbaijani composers. Dirk de Greef, CEO of Etcetera, expressed great interest after listening to this CD. He really liked our music. He believes that it will be certainly interesting to European audience. The company is interested in releasing a CD with the works by Azerbaijani composers in my performance under the label of Etcetera. I think this is the duty of every musician to promote Azerbaijani music in the world and arouse the interest of Azerbaijani listeners in the world classical music."
