The opening of the 3d "Eurovillage 2015" was hosted in Azerbaijan's Baku on Sept. 19, and was attended by the ambassadors of several EU countries.
The European Union's event, which took place in Baku's Icheri Sheher, intended to introduce European traditions and culture for Baku residents.
The program of the event includes a Magic show, a Pizza Spinning show, German and Traditional Greek dancing, Karaoke, a museum tour, as well as a lot of games and quizzes.
In the evening the guests are to be entertained by Klapa More (Croatia) and Peatbog Faeries (United Kingdom) music bands, which will begin at 18:30 and 19:00 (Baku time) respectively.
"I want to thank all our member states for their commitment to make this event a success," the head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Malena Mard said in her speech at the opening ceremony.
"I invite you to get involved there in workshops and exhibitions. Our member states have lots of activities planned for you this year."
The new feature of this year's event is the presentation of national cookies, according to her.
"National cuisine plays a major part in national identity," she said. "We are excited to present our cooking demonstration area. Eurovillage is a window into Europe, a chance to see, learn and enjoy rich culture and diversity which makes up the European Union."
