Seventeen students of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), admitted in academic year 2015/2016 with 690-700 entry points, were granted the Azerbaijani presidential scholarship.

The BHOS said in a message Sept. 22 that the scholarship was awarded in line with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's order on granting the presidential scholarship to students admitted to higher education institutions in academic year 2015/2016, dated Sept. 14, 2015.

Out of the 17 students, nine students were admitted to Petroleum Engineering Program, five students to Process Automation Engineering Program and three students to Chemical Engineering Program.

In general, out 25 students awarded the presidential scholarship in specialty group #1 in Azerbaijan, 17 students were admitted to study at BHOS.

The last academic year there was the same number of the presidential scholarship holders at BHOS.

In the academic year 2015/2016, the minimum score for entrance to BHOS was 659 points, while the general average score was 676 points, which is the highest result among the national higher education institutions.

Score indicators improved dynamically for all three specialties, said the BHOS, adding that three students out of the seven, who scored the highest 700 entrance points in specialty group #1, were admitted to BHOS.
