Saida Sadiyeva was born in 1998 in Bash Shabalid village of Sheki region. In 2004-2015 she studied at the secondary school and was three times winner of knowledge contests organized by Sheki Education Department. Saida Sadiyeva gathered 695 points during the entrance exam conducted by the State Students' Admission Commission (SSAC) for the first specialization group and was admitted to Chemical Engineering Programme at Baku Higher Oil School. Saida is also a winner of the Presidential scholarship.

- Saida, how was the entrance exam? What were your impressions before and after exam?

- The entrance exam ran very smoothly for me. I was just a little bit nervous. But I think it's normal, as I was going to see the results of my three years hard work. Two days prior to exam I stopped preparing for the tests. My father and my brother supported me a lot. After the exam, my teachers checked my Azerbaijani language test answers and found out a mistake. I grew really nervous. Actually, I was prepared to get 700, but I got 695 points. Despite this, I was quite satisfied with the results.

- What about the trial exams? Did you believe you could gather high points during the entrance exam?

- I used to score high points during the trial exams. I believed I could gather high points and my family and teachers were expecting 700 points from me.

- What should be done by prospective students to gather 700 points? And what kind of responsibilities should be taken? How specialization selection should be made?

- I think it is very important to study systematically, that is, prospective student should know in advance what should she or he study and how much time should be dedicated to a particular course? Prospective student should manage his or her time and set the goal of gathering high points. Certain studies should be conducted before selecting the specialization, as gathering high point is just a preliminary step, while specialization is an essential aspect in terms of our future professional life. Taking this into consideration I selected BHOS Chemical Engineering Programme.

- Why did you select BHOS and what kind of goals you've set?

- No one influenced me in selection, since I made up my mind three years ago. I was focused on admission to Baku Higher Oil School only. I did not see any other alternative because of high quality education available here. Every time I realize how right my choice was.

- Traditionally technical sciences and engineering profession are associated with men. What do you think about that? How can you explain your interest in chemistry?

- It is true that men constitute the majority in the mentioned specializations. However it is a fact that women also achieved great success in this field. I was always interested in chemistry and taking into account the growing demand in chemical engineering I am sure I did not err.

- What would you advise to prospective students who wish to be admitted to BHOS?

- I would advise them to increase their computer literacy and English language proficiency in addition to learning specific subjects, because at BHOS the mentioned skills are very important. I am convinced that BHOS surpasses all other universities in terms of education in our country. This explains why students with the highest points are studying at BHOS.
