The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 12-22, 2017, Chingiz Huseynzade, vice president of the National Olympic Committee told reporters.
He said that the schedule and the types of sports to be included in the Games were agreed earlier during the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation.
The information about the Islamic Solidarity Games was provided during the 9th General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation being held in Baku Nov.4.
It was noted that the Games will be held at 14 sports venues: Baku Olympic Stadium, Baku Crystal Hall, the Republican Stadium named after Tofig Bahramov, Baku Water Sports Palace, Heydar Aliyev Arena, National Gymnastics Arena, Baku Tennis Academy, Inter Arena, Baku Olympic Sports Complex, Bakcell Arena, 'Sarhadchi' Sports Olympic Center, Bina Equestrian Center and other sports facilities.
Moreover, during the meeting, there was provided information about the conditions created in the Athletes' Village and Media Village, security issues, transport and so on.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games will be held at Baku Olympic Stadium.
