Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 9

By Ilhama Isabalayeva - Trend:

The foreigners, recently drowned in a canal in Azerbaijan's Imishli district, had no permission to hunt there, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Trend Feb. 9.

A citizen of Saudi Arabia and a citizen of Qatar drowned in the canal located in the territory of the Khalifali village, the Imishli district, on Feb. 8 night.

Another citizen of Qatar was injured in the incident.

"The health condition of Abail Aziz Sadal Kabi, a 26-year-old citizen of Qatar, is satisfactory and he will be able to leave hospital Feb. 9," Farahim Malikov, deputy chief physician at the Imishli district hospital, told Trend earlier.

An investigation into the incident found out that the citizens of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and those who invited them to Azerbaijan, didn't appeal to the country's Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry for a permission to hunt.

Therefore, it is assumed that those individuals went hunting at night as they didn't have permission.

The incident is currently under investigation.
