Some of the world's top music artists, such as Chris Brown, Enrique Iglesias and Pharrell Williams will perform in Baku for three days at the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe event, Head of Marketing and Communications at Baku City Circuit Operations Company Nigar Arpadarai told reporters Apr. 13.
Baku City Circuit is the promoter and organizer of the speedway in Azerbaijan, where the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe will take place.
Arpadarai said that the entertainment program is an integral part of all stages of the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
"The opening ceremony of competitions is not as grandiose as at the Olympic or European Games, but the entertainment program itself is very rich," Arpadarai said. "As an example, we have chosen the Singapore Grand Prix format. During the three days of competitions, such world stars as Chris Brown (June 17), Enrique Iglesias (June 18) and Pharrell Williams (June 19) will perform in Baku, in the Formula 1 Village at the Baku Seaside Boulevard."
She said that those who bought tickets for one day of competitions will be able to attend Chris Brown's concert on June 17. Those who purchase tickets for all the three days of competitions will be able to go to all the three concerts for free, according to Arpadarai.
"Surely the entertainment program won't end here," she said. "In the near future we will announce other projects as well, but now I'd like to note that various entertainment activities with the participation of local stars will be organized on the entire territory of the boulevard."
"People who buy tickets for all days of the competitions will not only receive the opportunity to attend the concerts, but also to participate in an autograph session with drivers of Formula 1, watch the awarding ceremony of winners and take part in a number of other important events," Arpadarai said.
"Thus, in particular, one can see how the cost of tickets was formed," she said. "One needs to buy quite expensive tickets to simply attend the concerts of these singers [in general], however people who bought a ticket will be able to watch both the Formula 1 and the GP2 Series (a form of open wheel motor racing) competitions, as well as take part in all the interesting activities and attend the concerts."
