More than 700 people have already been registered for participation in Baku Marathon 2016, Heydar Aliyev Foundation told Trend Apr. 15.
The Baku Marathon 2016 will be held May 1 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The event's main goal is to assist the development of sports in Azerbaijan, promote healthy lifestyle, especially, among the youth, and bring them together for a good cause.
All the residents of Baku can take part in the marathon, while guests should be registered in advance. Those interested to participate in the Baku Marathon 2016 can register at www.bakumarathon.az or apply at special stands in Baku's malls.
For registration, all the applicants should fill out an application form and present the copy of ID cards (a and pay the participation fee - 20 manats for individuals, 100 manats for corporate representatives.
Students can participate in the marathon for free.
The registration process will last until April 25.
The course of the Baku Marathon 2016 will cover a distance of 21 km from its start point (Flag Square) to finish line (Baku Olympic Stadium).
The zone for fans of the competition will be established at the Baku Olympic Stadium.
The funds to be received from the Baku Marathon 2016 will be spent on the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's project for the children deprived of parental care.
