Purpose of 'Republican Olympiad in Informatics among Higher School Students', which has been held with the support of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Education and Institute of Information Technologies of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Nar, is to increase knowledge and interest of higher school students in the field of informatics and programming as well as to involve selected students into international Olympiads.
Unlike other years, a large number of participants have attended this Olympiad. In addition to the universities in Baku, 55 teams of totally 22 higher education institutions, including of Nakhchivan, Ganja, Mingachevir, Sumgait State Universities, Azerbaijan Technology University have participated in the Olympiad. In accordance with the existing rules, the Olympiad was held in two phases. Teams of 13 higher educational institutions, scoring the best results, qualified for the final round.
It is noteworthy that Nar's support for this Olympiad is aimed at education and youth in the framework of corporate social responsibility strategy.
