Vasileva has high hopes for Azerbaijani gymnasts at European Championships

All Azerbaijani gymnasts will perform new programs during the 32nd European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships to be held June 17-19 in Israeli city of Holon, Mariana Vasileva, head coach of Azerbaijan's national artistic gymnastics team, told Trend June 13.

Vasileva said she expects excellent performances of the Azerbaijani gymnasts during the Championships.

Marina Durunda and Jala Piriyeva will represent Azerbaijan at the European Championships in senior individual programs.

Twenty best gymnasts of the last championship are taking part in the 32nd European Championships, according to the tournament's format, noted Vasileva.

"I am very glad that Ayshan Bayramova was able to win one more place for Azerbaijan in 2015," she said, adding that thus, Jala Piriyeva will also be able to take part in the Championships.

"We will have team standings in the program for individual junior gymnasts, as well as four finals will be held with rope, hoop, ball and clubs," said Vasileva. "Ilaha Mammadova will represent us with all four apparatuses, while Veronica Hudis will perform with rope and hoop, and Zohra Aghamirova will perform with ball and clubs."

She added the Azerbaijani squad will leave for Israel on June 14.
