Azerbaijan attaches great attention to the development of gymnastics, Janana Suleymanli-Pasha, a spectator of the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku, told Trend July 23.

She said the competitions at the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics have been organized at a high level.

“I have been living abroad for 25 years,” she said. “I came to Baku to visit my parents. When I heard that Baku will host the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics, I decided to stay here for three more days to watch the performances.”

“We are watching all performances from the beginning until the end,” she added. “I believe our team will win and raise Azerbaijan’s flag.”

The spectator also noted that the National Gymnastics Arena, where the competitions are being held, is a world-class facility.

“I am at this arena for the first time,” she said, adding that the arena gives special beauty to Baku.

The FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics will last until July 24, giving a unique opportunity to watch the performances of eminent gymnasts from 17 countries two weeks prior to the Rio Olympics.

Twenty-six gymnasts and nine teams will compete for medals in the all-around on the first two days of competitions. Apparatus finals will be held on the event’s last day.

A traditional Gala will be held on July 24, as part of the FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics in Baku.
