A Project of “Leader Teacher - Leader University” has been launched at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
The main purpose of the Project is to improve UNEC academic staff’s professionalism ability and to increase their interest in scientific research, personal development, social activity and business relations.
The competition is to be held on the criteria “Leader teacher- Innovative teacher”, “Leader teacher- Professional teacher”, “Leader teacher- Researcher teacher”, “Leader teacher- Favorite teacher”, “Leader teacher- Enthusiastic teacher”, “Leader teacher- Inventor teacher”, “Leader teacher- Self- developer teacher”.
The assessment on “Leader teacher- Innovative teacher” and “Leader teacher- Enthusiastic teacher” will be define by the commission consisting of 5 people. They will carry out assessment of the instructor who participates on criteria of the contest, attending at his/her 2 lectures and 2 seminars without prior notice. In case when the teachers’ scores showed the best result will be the same, the “Student Satisfaction Survey” in Differential Salary System will be based on.
The assessment criteria of the “Leader teacher- Innovative teacher” will be conducted within the 10-point system for the level of usage of innovative teaching methods, benefitting of the Electronic University Model and teaching resources. The criterion of “Leader teacher- Enthusiastic teacher” will be evaluated for the number of initiatives made by the instructor for the improvement of teaching process, development of business and public relations, as well as the sport and social projects.
The other 5 criteria will be carried out on the basis of the results of the relevant sections of Differential Salary System which performs the academic staff’s performance related assessment.
Participation in the competition will be conducted on a voluntary basis. The online application form will be available at unec.edu.az webpage for those to participate. The commission will give the right of participation evaluating the essays submitted. Afterwards the list of the instructors to join the contest will be announced. The competition will last until June 30 2017.
