Azerbaijan will increase the 2017 expenditures on defense by nearly 7 percent.
According to the presentation of the draft state and consolidated budgets for 2017, released by the Ministry of Finance, it is planned to allocate 2.9 billion manats (17.4 percent of budget expenditures) to ensure the defense capability and national security of Azerbaijan, which is in a state of war.
This figure is 187 million manats, or 6.9 percent more than in the current year.
