The famous Strauss Festival Orchestra of Vienna presented “My life is love and lust” concert at the Heydar Aliyev Center.
The concert was attended by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Vice-President Leyla Aliyeva.
The repertoire included pieces by the worldwide renowned Austrian composer Johann Strauss, also recognized as ‘the King of Waltz’, as well as a number of classic Viennese composers like Johann Strauss I, Carl Michael Ziehrer, Robert Stolz, Emmerich Kálmán, Luigi Arditi, Joseph Strauss, Eduard Strauss and Franz Lehar.
The Orchestra’s founder and artistic director Peter Gut, loyal to Strauss’ traditions, conducted and performed at the concert and was cheered.
Pieces from various operettas were presented by the Orchestra’s soloist Elisabeth Jarman (soprano).
A noteworthy detail is that this is the second concert by the Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The Orchestra’s maiden performance at the Center back in 2014 was a true success and a memorable event for the audience.
The Strauss Festival Orchestra is the guardian of Vienna’s musical traditions and one of Europe’s leading orchestras. Operating as of 1978, it is now Vienna’s official orchestra inaugurating the city’s famous Ball Festival on January 1 each year.
After the concert, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Vice-President Leyla Aliyeva met with the famous conductor and virtuoso violinist Peter Gut.
