FOOTBALL CLUBS PENDING CASTYING OF LOTS

Azerbaijan’s three football clubs will know their opponents in UEFA Cup tournament, following today’s casting of lots at UEFA’s headquarters

in Switzerland.

Two national football clubs will make their debut in UEFA tournament вЂ" Khazar Lankaran as silver medallist of the national championship and Baki as the winner of the national football cup. Both also were debutants of Azerbaijan’s upper league.

The country’s No. 1 club, Neftchi, has better experience in this kind of tournament, though it is not ruled out that the Baku team will have to resist Liverpool, the owner of the UEFA’s 2004-2005 Champions’ League.
