AZERBAIJANI, ROMANIAN OMBUDSMEN TO EXPAND CO-OP IN PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

The Azerbaijani and Romanian ombudsmen will expand cooperation in protection of human rights, as well as exchange of experience within the international organizations under a resolution made during the visit of Elmira Suleymanova, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, to Romania, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman’s Apparat told Trend.

The visit carried out at the invitation of Ioanna Muraru, the Ombudsman of Romania. The parties discussed prospects of cooperation, role of Romania in Azerbaijan’s integration to Europe, exchange of experience in work with low-enforcement bodies, penitentiary system during the visit.

The Azerbaijani ombudsman got familiar with the work of the penitentiary system of Romania, met with judges of Constitutional Court of the country.

Suleymanova also met with representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Romania, and leadership of the Romanian-Azerbaijani friendships group.
