REGIONS OF AZERBAIJAN, IRAN TO CO-OP IN HEALTH AND SANITARY-EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SPHERE

Azerbaijan and Iran will develop cooperation in the sphere of fighting with infectious and dangerous diseases, the Health Ministry told Trend. A relevant agreement was achieved during the meeting of the officials of the health and sanitary epidemiological administrations and medical institutions of Iran and Azerbaijan.

the meeting was held in Bilasuvar district of Iran, bordering Azerbaijan. Adil Karimov, the Deputy Health Minister, headed Azerbaijani delegation in the talks, while Iranian delegation included officials from ostans of East and West Azerbaijan, Ardebil and Gilan.

The meeting discussed the ways for fighting of Azerbaijani and Iranian health and sanitary-epidemiological services with different diseases, such as malaria, TB, measles and AIDS.

There was reached an agreement on exchange of experience among the medical institutions and health administrations of Iran and Azerbaijan, as well as information on epidemiological and other diseases on the border territory.
