Elmira Suleymanova, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, toured Agjabadi and Barda Districts with regard to get familiar with the protection of human rights and resolve their problems. The Institute of Ombudsman told Trend taking into consideration the complaints by the citizens on the Agjabadi Executive Power the Ombudsman hosted a reception for citizens along with the head of the District Executive Power.
The majority of complaints were linked with the reception and consideration of the appeals by the Executive Power, the drawbacks during the land reforms, activities by the law-enforcement and courts, as well as employment. During the reception some appeals were resolved positively.
During the meeting Ombudsman received a complaint on the use of torture against the district police department in the regard to an arrested man. The Ombudsman met with the detained, while no traces of violence was found in his body. The arrested did not complain of the terms of maintenance.
Suleymanova also met with the residents of Barda District, assisted the resolution of the problems, got familiar with the pre-elections situation, and gave its recommendations to the head of the Executive Power.
