The necessity for expanding the population’s awareness in corruption fighting became unavoidable today in Azerbaijan, the spokesman of the American Lawyers Association (ABS CEELI) Kristine Womack made such a statement, Trend reports.
В"Corruption is one of the major factors, slowing down the economic development of any country, including Azerbaijan”, Womack noted, remarking that the populations’ awareness growth will help activate the fight with any forms of corruption.
According to her, the successful suppressing of corruption facts is only possible in close cooperation of the government of Azerbaijan, non-governmental organizations and international institutions.
В"A special role in this field is attached to the workshops, conferences and various publications, part of the enlightening activities. It is also needed to increase the population’s awareness in the regions of Azerbaijan” a ABS CEELI representative noted, having expressed gratitude to the country’s leadership for the support in work with non-governmental organizations.
